Levels 0 and 1 only exist while you're in a conversation. Level 2 gives the system a body, so things can happen without you present.
Everything before this point happens only while you have a chat window open. Level 2 adds a small always-on computer — somewhere for a morning briefing to come from, somewhere for a voice note to get processed on your walk home, somewhere for a scheduled check to quietly run in the background. This is the point where the system starts doing things while you're asleep or otherwise occupied, instead of only when you're actively typing.
You don't need to become a programmer for this. At this level, the AI itself acts as your guide — it tells you what to type, you paste it, it checks the result and explains any error in plain language.
This is the first level with a real dollar cost attached — small, but no longer zero.
